Far North digitalization is not an obstacle

At the end of June, Cheboksary enterprises presented the 110/35/10 kV modular transformer digital substation TsPS Sever to the admission committee of Gazpromneft PJSC. It is able to operate in the most difficult climatic conditions of the Far North and provide grid power supply to the facilities of the Novoportovskoye oil and gas condensate field (YaNAO).

The substation is fully equipped with relay protection and automation equipment manufactured in the workshops of NPP EKRA. The "brain" of the substation is a centralized control cabinet, control and protection of the substation equipment. As a “nervous system”, cabinets of interface devices with an object (USO) of the ShNE 2060 type for 110 kV and T1/T2 switchgear are used. With this equipment for receiving, converting and distributing electrical energy, the automation system works on the principles of digital signal transmission and provides maximum automation of the measurement, control and protection of equipment. There are no analog and discrete signals at the substation, they are all completely digital, since the automation system is implemented through a software and hardware complex based on digital equipment and fiber optic communications, united by a single data transfer protocol.
